Merry Christmas!!

This year has gone by way to fast. I’ve just settled back on Oahu in the last month from a governmental audit and come to realize 2008 is just about done.
Well, Christmas came and went, and it was quite pleasant and relaxing. After opening gifts at midnight (just as father envisioned every Christmas since we were small), we watched my mom’s favorite new movie.. “Mamma Mia.” She just loves her ABBA. We also got her tickets to the live show when it comes down to Honolulu this May. We definitely made sure she has a very Merry Christmas. I have to admit the movie was not bad, but the whole Pierce Brosnan singing thing just doesn’t cut it for me. I mean James Bond singing!! Weird! Well, that’s still not as bad Roger Moore playing a flamboyantly gay character. (I mean its James Bond, Mr. Sleeps with a 1,000 Different Women without an STD to Show for It)
As for my memorable gift, my sister gave me some kind of X-Men figurine. I loved comic books growing up. Well, the gift prompt me to watch X-Men later that day. (X-mas, X-men, close enough)
Anyways, I’m looking forward to seeing my wife so she can have her Christmas gift and vacation.
Only a couple more days until 2009. Obama in Da House!!

Yes, I have returned. Its not like I have much to write about. I mean.. I’m a frickin’ accountant. Its almost impossible to find a person like me interesting. Let me know when you find an outrageously fun and/or exciting accountant. So yeah, as an update nothing much has happened. Hmmmm…
I just signed up for the Nike+ Human Race which is going to happen in LA on August 31st. I’m really looking forward to it. Kanye West will be performing for the event! Wiiiiii!!! But of course the main focus, will be to run for the charitable organizations that Nike is working with. Yen chose to run for the WWF (no.. not the World Wrestling Federation. I’m sure they make enough money as is), World Widlife Fund. I chose the Lance Armstrong Foundation. It was a toss up between this and the UN Refugee Agency. It should be real exciting.
Oh yes, that does mean I have to fly up to Cali again for that Labor Day weekend. It will be a short-lived but awesome trip. I can’t wait to see Toro. I miss the little guy.
Next month I will be working alot more in and out of Maui for an audit. It should be a very worthwhile experience for me. I just hope I’m ready for it. The job is probably going to run through to December. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that it all works out.
Well, I’m out for now. I need to clean this house up before the week starts.

Its just too bad no one ever really gets over that “hump.” I can’t believe July is almost over. Heck, 2008 is more than halfway over!! Holy rusted metal Batman!! Its crazy to think time flies when you are having fun. Actually it time flies even when you’re not (by retrospect, of course). Nothing much has happened since the last time I checked in. Its just work work work.
I miss my Queen, though. I miss her a whole lot. She’s deserves the world and I hope and pray she gets it sooner rather than later.
Its time for me to enjoy some wine and finish my royal blog. The wine of the week is Charing Cross Zinfandel.
By the way, if you see this little bastard let me know.
He keeps foiling my plans while eating everything in sight, especially my majestic Peanut Butter cups!!
Don’t let that cute face fool you. He is truly evil!!

Actually, it wasn’t the best week ever. The phrase got stuck in my head after watching VH1’s Best Week Ever.
I just love trash TV (MTV, VH1).
It was another draining week. Monday was the CPA exam section and the rest of the week was meeting deadlines. Well more like one important deadline. All I can say is financial statements suck and so do adjusting entries. (You see, the life of an accountant is very depressing. We end up knowing crap that most people don’t or care to understand. That just makes us very weird individually and collectively as a profession.) I do have to say this though: Being an ACCOUNTANT and being a BOOKKEEPER are two different things.
If you work at a company in the accounting department and all you do is crunch numbers or cut checks or any other mundane task for just that one company, you are BOOKKEEPER (or Accounting Clerk, to those that think that we’re the same). If you work at a company that deals with other peoples accounting issues and work (tax returns, financial statements, audits, etc.) than you are an ACCOUNTANT.
Phew.. Now that I got that off my chest. Everything is cool!!

A Healthy Dog
Well, the test has come and gone. It must have been the longest four hours of my life. Actually it was the longest since the last time I took that test. I’m just hoping second time was the charm. I got kids to feed!! I need to make my money now!! Well, just Toro.. and he can live off of veggies and fruits it seems. Pretty amazing for a dog. The bloody canine eats healthier than anyone else I know. Go figure!
Looks like its back to reality folks. Time to rest up and get this week started.
Pretty blah for an entry, I know. I’m still trying to get the hang of it.
